I am using the free version. Turn it back on and I get "avast antivirus antivirus is active on this computer and may be blocking quickbooks" when I scan folders. At least now under the Database server tab, I can see both computers either way now. But, when data is entered in one computer, it does not show on the other. I did go into exclusions in Avast and set up QB, but that did not seem to help.
Hello buddykonz , This is something to do with the security of your computer. Windows firewall and antivirus usually blocks some software from running in the system. You'll need to add the programs under the firewall and the antivirus to allow them from running. You can also consult an IT guy to configure the settings.
Level 1. I'm also having this issue and i'm sure it's related to users not being able to switch to multi-user mode. They receive the H error when they try. I'll scan the company files on database manager and receive that error "windows firewall is blocking quickbooks". I've manually configured the firewall based off the article listed above but i still receive the message.
File doctor says everything is okay on both my server and client computers. Also, the only way a user can switch to multi-user mode is if the company file is already open as multi-user mode on the server.
I've called quickbooks a few times but we have not been able to get this going. Opened the firewall up wide to both the ports and programs, but still get the error message. You need to reset the firewall back to factory settings. That is what worked for me.
