I've been on for hours with Comcast support and Lenovo support. No luck. Comcast escalated it, but I'm told it's a problem with Microsoft's software. It seems that it's a problem with the interface between Windows Live Mail and the Comcast server. I'm on Live Mail Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Thanks for your feedback. Thanks for the reply! Several Comcast techs and the Lenovo tech have all verified my settings. The fact that it occasionally downloads also suggests there's something screwy in the interface between Live Mail and the Comcast server.
No problem with getting emails on my phone or even on Outlook. There's something about the interface between WLM and Comcast that doesn't work. I even tried downloading Windows Live Mail , to see if that would function. But I keep getting an error message that it can't install it.
I believe this issue is a Thunderbird issue because when I click Settings, I am not able to change settings and if I post a picture, it will just cause more confusion. So , I'll take that up with TB and then. I'll come back here for the connection issue. I just saw that other people are having the same issue with not being able to send from Email clients, so maybe by that time, the comcast issue will be fixed.
I received a request from Comcast to mark one of these responses as best answer. There has not been a solution. While researching the problem all the sudden it started working again.
Oddest thing or maybe not , is that the email addy that was originally set up as my Comcast username kept working, it was a 2nd alternate email addy that I use as my primary email addy that gave the "Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection" error, and it wouldn't download emails I could send but not receive - this has occurred for several days now but I didn't even realize it because email from the other addy was coming through fine.
I don't think we have the same issue. I can "receive" emails in Windows Live, but I can't "send" them. They remain in my outbox. Just tested it again and got the same thing.
Glad you were able to solve your issue, though. I just use Thunderbird to send emails from Comcast address. It also believe it's a Comcast issue, they just don't know how to correct it. I have 2 email accounts in WLM. I use Juno to send and receive most emails in WLM and it works fine.
I just saw a few other people who use Outlook complaining in a different thread that they're experiencing the same issues as of last night. I have been experiencing this for almost a year now.
Just gave up. But if you have nay solutions, I'll be happy to give it a shot.
